  No more printing of WT and Awake in my country.. Shit just got real

  guys .

  a letter was just read in out kh stating that all printing of wt and awake is ceased for the coming year and we will just place tracts on fs, countries which were cared by our branch will be cared by other countries...along with this they read the new fs form and stuff about reporting links of videos wtf..lol.

  i can't tell which country perhaps that will give away a lot, any one with a similar information.

  Years ago the Government of India through the finance ministry withdrew the license that the WBTS had to receive foreign funds. It was commonly acknowledge that the funds were stopped because WBTS did not carry out any charitable works, as listed by the government to claim tax exemption. As a result WBTS stopped shipment of Bibles, bound volumes, cassettes, and a huge list of publications. Several hundred bethelites and special pioneers were dismissed.

  The opening post seems to be an extension of what has already been taking place.

  perhaps this was touched on in another thread so i apologize if it was ( i don't get to read all of the posts on here all the time) .

  who leaked that october letter that was read about the midweek meeting restructuring and reduction in magazines?

  it only could've been someone fairly high up in the organization or someone in the it department that converted it to pdf format, or someone from a branch that is in charge of digital correspondence, translation, etc.

  Gauging by the parking lots on Sunday, the Tabernacles are killing it compared to the Kingdom Halls and its most of the day. And its Los Angeles, not Utah. ;) AND every Mormon family seems to have at least 4 kids in tow. Nothing remotely close for the JWs. That fact alone, along with the JW 33% retention rate, logically points to growth for the Mormons outpacing the JWs. Don't you think?

  Growth rate and baptism are nearly identical between JWs and Mormons. The blaring difference is Mormons accomplish the task with 60,000 door knockers instead of 8 million.

  We have 3 birthdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas in our immediate family. Its pretty much a gift wrapped orgy.

  Baptism is it really a dedication to God, where in the Bible?

  i haven't found a scripture where it says that baptism is a dedication to god.

  i have only found in the book of acts chapter 2 i believe where baptism is for forgiveness of sins.

  am i wrong?

  Many religions view dedication to God as a promise to do his will. Child dedications for example do not assume salvation but a promise to bring that child up "in the faith". Hannah was a barren wife who promised to dedicate her child to God if He would give her a son (1 Samuel 1:11). Luke 2:22 begins the account of Mary and Joseph taking Jesus to the temple after forty days in order to dedicate Him to the Lord. This was slightly more involved since it involved a sacrifice, but once again this ceremony did not indicate any level of salvation.

  JWs view Baptism as the public display of the dedication they have previously made to serve Jehovah.

  Disfellowshipped at a funeral

  recently at a funeral for an active jw, death was sudden and tragic.

  was surprised that that one of the disfellowshipped children of the deceased was comforted by the jw's at the funeral.

  i would say the majority hugged and said a few short words to the disfellowshipped child on the recieving line to comfort the family.

  Its still frowned upon and certain elders will take issue with it even months after the fact, but I've seen DFd children(even well into adulthood) receive condolences and attention at funerals and gatherings in homes after funerals. I've also seen certain elders be complete assholes and demand that the DFd child not be present at the gathering in the home or elsewhere after the funeral. Some going as far as causing the majority in attendance to leave when the DFd child or family refuse to be excluded or exclude.
